This tried & true Kodak Brownie Hawkeye Flash camera was given to me by my Brother who acquired it somehow from our Dad. Dad picked it up in the late 1950's as a young, Dutch immigrant guy living & farming in Southern Alberta. Seeing that I love this camera so much and tote it around faithfully from country to country, I thought I would share with you some of my favourite Brownie Hawkeye photos from around the world.

I ♥ my Dad to bits and he's going to be 70 soon, so in his honour, I'd like to show you a
very cool picture of him from his younger days!
(Not taken with the Hawkeye unfortunately.)
PS - Recently Kodak asked me to do a guest blog post about my travels and my little piece of Kodak history.
Have a look!
This is awesome! Great photographs using a classic camera. We love them all, but if we had to choose, Dave loves the shot from Rio and I love the shot of your dad. We're looking forward to seeing more of your photographs. Glad that we found another fellow Canadian traveler. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the pictures. Your dad is great!
ReplyDeleteHi, I popped over from Google+ because of Ann Hearn's posting about this. :) I'm with Deb - I loved the photo of your senior dad. It reminded me of sweet family memories of my own senior dad when he lived in Hawaii and I would visit. :) A very sweet article - thank you.
